KRUTI Sansthan was founded on 2 October 1992 under the guidance of the late Pt. Shivnarayan Gaud, to give momentum to literary and cultural activities in Neemuch. Initially its activities were limited to poetry gatherings. The organization gained new dimensions in 1998 when it was formally registered, after which its activities became continuous and multi-faceted. Its regular annual activities include the Tepa Sammelan, Hindi Diwas (14 September), the Drawing Competition (19 November), the Cookery Competition, and the Kruti Utsav started in 2004, along with periodic thought-gatherings, poetry sessions and other programs.

On Hindi Diwas every year, renowned personalities are invited to deliver lectures. Eminent speakers including Pt. Omprakash Sharma (Mhow), satirist Prof. Jawahar Choudhary, Prof. Sanjay Jain, Veena magazine editor Shri Rakesh Sharma (Indore), Malvi poet Narhari Patel, historian Shri Jeevan Singh Thakur (Dewas), story-writer Shri Satish Dubey (Indore), and others have addressed these events. Solo poetry recitals by local poets Shri Niranjan Gupta and Shyam Jhanwar have also been organised.

KRUTI has published and released several literary works, including Shri Pramod Ramawat's 'Meri Adhuri Amarnath Yatra', the ghazal collection 'Ab Subah Najdeek Hai', and works by other writers, often under the chief guest-ship of eminent litterateur and former MP Shri Balkavi Bairagi. The book 'Atithi' (satire) by former president Shri Omprakash Choudhary, and books by Dr. Puran Sehgal were also released. KRUTI organised the Kalamkar Sammelan twice, with around 100 writers from the Neemuch-Mandsaur region presenting papers on about 12 literary forms — a milestone in the organization's history.

When Neemuch became a district, KRUTI staged a Ramleela by Abhinav Rang Mandal (Ujjain) with district administration support. A three-day music and dance festival by the Ustad Allauddin Khan Music Academy (Bhopal) was entrusted to KRUTI, featuring Odissi dancer Kalpana Dwivedi, world-renowned flautist Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, and santoor player Shri Omprakash Chaurasia. KRUTI also organised a two-day program on the 150th anniversary of the First War of Independence with Swaraj Sansthan Bhopal, and hosted qawwali and cultural programs with the South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur.

Since its inception, KRUTI has organised a Drawing Competition on 19 November to encourage child artists, in which hundreds of children participate each year (held 2021-24 in memory of late Smt. Premlata Jaju with the Jaju family's support). To encourage women's culinary skills, KRUTI also holds an annual Cookery Competition, very popular among the city's women.

The Kruti Utsav, started in 2004, has become the organization's identity. Renowned satirist Prof. Saroj Kumar, ghazal-writer Maikash Ajmeri, and Padma Shri Kabir folk-singer Prahlad Singh Tipaniya have performed here. Bharatnatyam and classical dance troupes, art exhibitions, and plays such as 'Dilli Ki Deewar', 'Tajmahal Ka Tender', and 'Bhagat Singh Ki Wapsi' by Parivartan Group (Gwalior) have been presented. Famous dancers and ghazal singers Ahmed Hussain & Mohammed Hussain have also performed.

Last year, lectures by retired IAS Shri Manoj Srivastava (on Hanuman) and Shri Mukesh Nayak (on Bharat) were organised. The Kruti Utsav featured folk dance by Anuja Upadhyay's group (Khandwa) and Bharatnatyam by Kalanjali (Bhopal).

Under its social activities, KRUTI ran literacy schools, launched Neemuch's first campaign against plastic bags, and organised lectures and thought-gatherings on civic issues — encroachment, traffic, drinking water, rail facilities, and women's leadership. It campaigned for Chambal river water supply and a sports complex at Bungalow No. 60. The 'Mera Jeevan Mere Anubhav' program brought forward the experiences of senior citizens, freedom fighters, doctors and social workers. During COVID, online discussions, essay and debate competitions were held.

KRUTI has undertaken the development of Shaheed Park near Gyan Mandir College, installing statues of Neemuch's freedom fighters; the first phase with Neemuch Municipality is complete. On Gandhiji's 150th anniversary, KRUTI had his favourite bhajan 'Vaishnav Jan To' sung simultaneously at 203 places in the city, earning entries in the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records.

Over the past 35 years, KRUTI has received generous support from the city's discerning citizens, and its members have given invaluable contributions. The organization is confident it will continue to advance its activities in the same spirit.
